What is peanut allergy?

Did you know that peanuts and walnuts are the main source of serious allergic or anaphylactic reactions? This is caused by the excessive ingestion of peanuts which causes anyone to be affected by a peanut allergy. Health circles believed that researchers conducted a peanut allergy and tree allergy study in the United States in 1999. They found that nearly 1.1% of the American population is affected by peanut and tree allergy. They also found that a person experiencing an allergic reaction is positive to consume it for almost an hour and the signs of the disease are hives, wheezing, vomiting or diarrhea, a feeling of tightness in the throat and angiodema.

This study clearly indicates that since 1999 the United States has already been suffering from peanut and nut allergy since then in a certain part of it. Interestingly enough, most affected individuals are adults who are considered “positive for peanut allergy” compared to children. This is really unusual because most children are always suffering from allergies. But the interesting fact is that people with this allergy don’t take it seriously. Can you imagine since 1999 not even 50% of these affected people have consulted a doctor about their condition? This is absolutely true.

Probably, one of the most incredible news from the study that about 7% of patients with peanut allergy have a prepared injectable epinaprine kit that is needed in case an anaphylactic reaction occurs at any time. Perhaps this study can make people understand how important it is to give importance to the crucial factors of peanut and nut allergy. There are also proposals to ban peanuts on planes and schools are also planning to turn into “peanut-free areas”. These are very important proposals because peanuts are also carriers of allergens which can also cause food allergies apart from peanut allergy.
